What was wrong with it? Green and Leonard are good 3 point shooters, not historic ones, and they don't have anyone drawing defensive attention inside - Bosh and Birdman can guard Duncan down low with reasonable success, and if he scores, better than giving up 3s (The Heat strategically traded 60% 3s for 50% 2s, in essence). Of course they were going to regress to the mean.oh my god i lost brain cells just from reading this
on topic, we blew game 6 and probably deserved to lose after that. great season regardless.
i wasnt putting the officiating in question at all, nor did i say that the spurs deserved to win the series after giving away game 6. calling a coach with 4 titles in the last decade and a half and 16 straight playoff appearances with the same core superstar over that time overrated is just ridiculous though. come on man lol. sure, he probably overcoached in the last two games, (ie sitting parker and duncan at the same time throughout several stretches where miami made runs, taking duncan out to try to match up with a smaller lineup, riding manu even through his struggles) but that doesnt warrant being called overrated when you look at the totality of the career. What was wrong with it? Pops is a good coach but he's treated like the Belichick of the NBA when he isn't.
and if you actually watched the series, the Spurs got far and away the most ref love.
Beautiful :')
way too muchhow much did they pay ginobli?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1999_NBA_Finalsnicely put. I didnt even know who Tim Duncan was till this year and now I feel like joining the Spurs.
I friggin' died.
what does that even mean lolChalmers btw is brewing to be the Fisher of LeBron
You realize that the game has changed over the years and it is insane to even try comparing players across the years through numbers because we don't know what they would be like today. Defenses are tougher today regardless of who got hit in the 80's and the power of the center has been diminished significantly. Kobe's 81 and Love's 30+ rebounds were amazing to do, I'd say even more amazing than Wilt's 100 or Russell's 50+ rebounds. For someone who claims to know more about basketball than anyone in this thread I'd think you know that.my top has always been mostly set in stone, MJ>Kareem>Magic>Duncan>Shaq>Bird>Russell>Wilt should be something like what it has always looked like, you can throw whoever you want up after that but Lebron and Kobe belong less than anybody have ever belonged in any conversation
whatever specific statistics say, guys like Moses Malone, Oscar Robertson, Dr. J, etc were probably all better than Lebron, an MVP caliber player disappearing in 2/3 finals in a 3 year span is fucking unbelievable...getting the ring is not all that is important, HOW you get it is important
(but all the Lakers fanboys, not in this thread just out there in general, who are like LOL SEE KOBE IS BETTER!!1 are still completely uninformed, those are usaully the same guys who think Kobe is really the #2 player of all time though)
Hakeem finals just shooting
10/22, 10/21, 8/20, 14/20, 12/21, 11/21, 10/25, 13/26, 14/30, 14/30, 15/30 = 131/266
(and against David Robinson Spurs to play into finals, Hakeem threw up 12/24, 18/31, 19/32, 9/24, 19/30, 16/25 lol)
Lebron finals just shooting
9/16, 8/15, 6/14, 3/11, 8/19, 9/15, 11/24, 10/22, 11/23, 10/20, 9/19, 7/16, 7/17, 7/21, 15/25, 8/22, 11/26 = 149/325
which guy has an argument at being a top 10 player? not Lebron James, definitely not Lebron James...being a big man is easier, and it might not make you "more talented", but it is just how things work, these guys played wayyyy better than Lebron
