SPOILERS! Scarlet & Violet Leaks Thread - Data/Mechanics

I never got the datamine thread instinct to call moves "lost" when even last gen they only had them by transfer. Nor do I get ignoring legitimate old-gen move sources to say a move was "gained". Pollutes all your new move lists! Makes sense for the immediate meta I gUESS

I've gone through all the returning Ground-types and these are their new moves. Ignoring Tera Blast because everything gets it.

A couple comments I didn't see other people make already:
Scorching Sands is nowhere to be seen. Perhaps it's going to be a DLC tutor again.
Camerupt getting Rain Dance is pretty funny.
Jaw Lock wasn't given to Krookodile, as I had predicted it would be.
Palossand got Night Shade and Hex!
Edit: Also, Quagsire got access to a Grass attack, something that only Seismitoad (of the Ground Water Absorbers) had previously
Since no one answered while i'm writting here are my thoughts.

Dugtrio SD with +20Atk stats he get in Gen 7 with Sash is going to make him more stronger. I completely see a ban of his ability once more.
Dugtrio-A seems scary in the lowers tiers, even if it's gonna be hard to SD without a sash... (And A-Dugtrio already have rocks.)

Quagsire like Gastrodon losing Scald, Toxic, and Recover 8PP is hard, but SR, Spikes and even Tspikes for Quagsire are helpful.

Donphan only have Body Press has good new move. But still cool for him to have a bit of diversity (Ice move, Steel moves...)

Camerupt getting (like Heatran) Flare Blitz is forgettable BUT 100Atk with just 5 less BS than SpAtk could make it use physicals sets in lower lower tiers.

Whiscash Spikes... Groudon Spikes + WoW... Landorus Nasty Plot... That's cool but we don't really care about them.

And for Garchomp, Liquidation is maybe better than Aqua Tail for Def drops and misses but that's all. But Spikes is awesome.

I've seen literally no one talk about wugtrio

And rightfully so.

This Pokémon seems sadder than Alolan dugtrio. Any saving grace for this pathetic mon?
Well, pretty awful stats other than 120 speed, monotype water, okay at best moveset, useless abilities...

Will prolly drop in the depths of untiered unless its signature move does some weird shit that's gamebreaking enough.

However it is cute and can kill itself very quickly with 120 speed Memento/Final Gambit.

On the naming thing, I'm not personally a huge fan of 'Paradox X' for a few reasons:
1. There's no mention of it in official capacity, so it might get awkward when later talking to people who didn't follow the leak cycle (particularly since their position in lore is complicated). That is however a later issue, and it is useful to have a way to refer to ancient/future/theme the DLC uses mons collectively.
2. It implies a form connection that kind of isn't there. They have their own dex numbers, aren't breeding compatible, Iron Valiant doesn't even correspond to a single other mon, etc.. We don't include the association on mons like Toedscruel that are in a similar position.
3. When using the shortform syntax for variants, the simplest abbreviation for Paradox is already being used this gen for the regional forms (i.e. Wooper-P and Salamence-P are from two different groups despite both being gen 9)

As a Warhammer player, I've already gotten used to the likes of Ferrus Manus, who commands the legion of the Iron Hands from his flagship, the Iron Hand. Guess what his defining feature is.

SD Duggy unfortunately has the problem of paper-thin bulk but you can get away with just STAB + Stone Edge + Sucker Punch on Kanto Duggy and STABS + Sucker on Alolan. 100 Base Attack isn't the highest but still this thing will be a pain to switch into for certain teams. In the lower tiers at least, I prefer playing them after all.

Calcs against lower-tier walls (Duggy Alola is the better mon in lower tiers but pretend these also apply to Kanto Duggy too):

+2 252 Atk Life Orb Dugtrio-Alola Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Palossand: 239-282 (63.9 - 75.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+2 252 Atk Life Orb Dugtrio-Alola Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Eviolite Vigoroth: 285-335 (78.2 - 92%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+2 252 Atk Life Orb Dugtrio-Alola Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Sableye: 308-363 (101.3 - 119.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO (Easy 2HKO with burn)

+2 252 Atk Life Orb Dugtrio-Alola Iron Head vs. 252 HP / 180+ Def Altaria: 234-277 (66.1 - 78.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+2 252 Atk Life Orb Dugtrio Rock Slide vs. 252 HP / 180+ Def Altaria: 294-346 (83 - 97.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO (Alolan Duggy never runs Rock Slide but it theoretically could too solely for this matchup but Kanto Duggy has to run it for not just this matchup but any Flying-type matchup; More reliable than Stone Miss which is a guaranteed OHKO if you can afford a risky set having more risk to it)

For a few examples. Ofc you have to get it in safely and let it set up but my point stands.

SD Banette would be cool if it got actual Ghost STAB but I guess not (for now at least who knows what DLC will bring).
