1 highlight from each series:
SV OU: crying vs Storm Zone - looks like we got an old fashioned cook off... Storm was my highlight last week but had to miss the game due to internet issues. He's an inspiring innovator and this is a good challenge for him to push the tier forward, playing against some aimbot dragonite set that only crying could think up and get a perfect matchup with. Something silly is gonna be on cryings' team that Storm zone either passes the skill check to beat, or doesn't.
SM OU: DonSalvatore vs PZZ - Don debuting his SM should be hype. He showed a lot of proficiency at it during masters. PZZ has been very entertaining to watch every week, even if he isn't necessarily topping the pool or reinventing the wheel with team choices. Sticking to offense is definitely a good move from him so maybe there's a style clash we end up with here.
BW OU: Dark Eeveon vs watashi - watashi's team last week was very fun while making sense logistically. Toxic spikes + dedicated spinblocking just seemed really effective at stuffing Rewer's stall. Hopefully he continues to use something inspired like that versus the most inspired innovator in the tier by far. Eeveon's play hasn't stood out particularly strongly but his team picks sure have and he manages to make me want to watch BW. Fun matchup if the players lean into it for sure.
ADV OU: Conflict vs SEA - Conflict came back down to earth a bit last week with his game vs rick. SEA in a similar vein got kind of smoked by BIHI. Both are looking to bounce back from a tough loss vs a strong competitor and should be hungry like never before. This is the week the innovations probably really start to pop too, with both teams in the middle of the playoffs cusp -- and of course both builders have a strong knack for seeing use in unusual mons. ADV match of the week for that reason imo.
SM OU: Skypenguin vs Charmflash - Skype has very nicely rebounded a slow start, moving from 0-2 to 5-2. His team calls are on point and his overall metagame influence feels really obvious to someone who understands SM building right now. Charm has a lot of antics that he's managed to leverage himself up to a very strong 6-1. Will they work against an on-fire Skype? Who knows, hype matchup for that reason
