I agree with Hipmonlee. If the allegations are found to be true then they should be banned. Hope the Sydney test wasn't thrown as that would make that awesome comeback feel cheated for us Aussies.

Daw beat me to it...

Really feel bad for Aamer (even though I shouldn't). Massive dent in his career.
Yep, his career was just taking off. Don't forget Butt though, he'd just got the captaincy, and wasn't doing too bad a job tbh. And Asif, making a comeback after all that doping stuff, and gets involved in shit like that again.

I really don't like that Aamer got caught up in this since he was looking fantastic so far in his career. Oh well, hopefully he isn't punished too much, along with the other two.

Also raging that Sarwan lost his WI contract.

Just wondering but is anyone following the Champions League? I'm not really all that into it but since there is no major cricket series in September I guess might as well. That and MI are in it so gotta be supporting them, lol.

It's quite funny, on here it's almost entirely Indian supporters, and then on the other website I use it's almost all Pakistanis!

Gul was godly yesterday, as was Akhtar's delivery to Trott. I came.

One of the best test matches of our time. Laxman is a fucking don...and both teams are down with injuries. Be interesting to watch Pujara though, haven't seen much of him since the IPL.

Haha yea Laxman is our 4th innings specialist =D

a very very underrated player. Pujara will get his chance soon enough. I just hope MSD wins the toss tonight.

Bradmanisque as they say =)

What an awesome test series this has been. As always Aussies fighting till the last moment. Really should have been a 4 test match series. But 2 is better than none.

Pujara playing a gem of an innings as well. One for the future.

It was prety much a baptism of fire for Pujara, but man, did he play a peach of an innings. His partnership, along with Vijay, undoubtedly prevented any last minute hiccups.

Also, 2 is the number of matches where the Aussies managed to snatch "defeat from the doorsteps of victory." They definitely have a jynx with breaking 8th-wicket partnerships. Ishant Sharma and Laxman performed a miracle, with their 80 run partnership which left the Aussies shell-shocked in the 1st test last month. Now look, it is Sri Lanka's turn. From a dead 107-8 chasing 240 to win, Matthews and Malinga went one step further than India, and hung on for an incredible 133 run partnership, clinching them the game.

If I were an Australian, I wouldnt give them much chances winning the Ashes. Seriously, their batting, apart from Ponting and Hussey, hasnt fired at all(with a lone 112 from Clarke last month in the only ODI against India)and looks weak against quality spin bowling from the likes of Swann. Also, Australian pitches are also bouncy, and offer movement, so England can also utilise their potent pace attack which includes James Anderson. However, Australia have an excellent pace attack consisting of Johnson, Hilfenhaus and Bollinger in their home conditions.

Another gem of an innings from Sehwag today. Bit sad that both he and Dravid got out with barely half an hour of play left, but then, 329-3 at stumps on Day 1 is an excellent start. But I wonder if we will see another of those strange and remarkable batting collapses tomorrow, which we Indians are well known for:nerd:.

NOTE: This might qualify as a bump, but I felt I should update this thread with the recent happenings in world cricket, hopefully providing topics for future discussions.

Sure Australia are in bad form and are losing at the crucial moments but why would you expect us not having much of a cahnce winning the ashes. England has won here in about 25 years and struggle wth the heat, pitches and kookaburra ball most of the time. The home advantage we have is huge. England is probably got the best side in years and Australia vice versa but on basis of home advantage we are the favourites. Also I don't know how relevent form is at the moment losing ODI's, 20/20's and in the dust bowl of india whose team is the best in the world at the moment.

Yeah I'm not buying the "Aussies have no chance" this Ashes thing. I'd still say 60-40 Australia primarily due to them playing at home. Having said that this is arguably the best chance England have got to win the Ashes. How Gream Swann goes on Australian pitches will be interesting to watch. It will be a pretty even and fascinating contest to watch IMO. I feel the Aussies are finally losing that X-factor which has helped them win so many crunch moments in matches.

Sehwag vs NZ is almost painful to watch even for an Indian supporter. Like seriously. It's a no contest. He wasn't even trying yesterday. Can't imagine anyone else just giving his wicket and letting the next guy bat on a wicket like that. Just gotta love Sehwag! lol

Can't wait for 50 test hundreds from the little master.. hopefully it comes today =D

As going by my prediction, India's middle order collapsed, but still Bhajji got us to 487. NZ is also playing well, and are on 331-5. India stands a GREAT chance, if we get them allout before Lunch on Day4, then pile up a big score quickly, leaving them a target of something like 400 odd.

NOTE: I only said Australia didnt have much chances, I never said "no chance", you cant underestimate the Aussies xD. Read my post.

I guess I can start talking about cricket again.

Talk about stupid bowling selection. I dunno if I have posted this before, but Jesse Ryder should not allowed to bowl ever. Far too important with the bat, and far too unfit to be an allrounder. If his injury keeps him out of the next test I will be pissed. Bennett breaking down was predicted by pretty much everyone. I'd much prefer it to have been McKay, but honestly, how could Arnel and Southee both miss out after the Australian series..

I also like McCullum opening. It is so reassuring to have a batsman with experience coming out before #4. I am unsure how much I will like it on a real cricket pitch as opposed to the plank they are playing on..

Have a nice day.

NZ putting up a fight. I don't know about "GREAT" chance. But we are still ahead considering NZ have to bat last. This was expected though on a Ahemdabad pitch. They have always been flat bar the first 1 hour of the first day. I reckon we will have a lead of about 80 odd and then hopefully score faster this time around. A target of 300 on the final day would make for a good contest. If India bat for 400+ that would indicate they are happy with a draw, which would suck. Your the #1 team now. Think positive!

Oh on a side not I'm sooooo happy Brendon Mac is batting at the top. Now barring England, Pak and SA (although Smith scores at a fair pace) all test playing nations have at least 1 aggressive opener.

Brendon Mac (NZ)
Virender Sehwag (Ind)
Tamim Iqbal (Ban)
Watson / Hughes (Aus)
TM Dilshan (SL)
Chris Gayle (WI)

All right, so Bhajji scores a century, and saves the day for India. I wonder what the world is coming to.

I feel we played TOO defensively after lunch on Day5. Once we had a lead of around 200, we should played aggressively, got 40-50 runs quickly, declare with something like 50 overs left, and set them a target of 250-odd. Then, atleast we could tried to make a match of it. Heck, Laxman and Bhajji could have done that EASILY.

Instead, we stall out the match, wait for Mr. Steve Davis to prove that he is blind( Seriously, you are blind if you cant see so HUGE inside edges, I could see it on the TV from a distance of 10 feet), and make it a dreary draw. Hats off to Chris Martin really, it was amazing to get 5 wickets, and extract so much bounce out of such a flat pitch. What was the curator thinking when he said it would be a "sporting" track?

Bhajji finally gets his first century in test cricket! Woo! lol.. Call him whatever you want but he's performed for us almost every time in crunch situations. VVS as dependable as always. Seriously though I will be pissed if Hyderabad is another road. Ahemdabad was expected to be one but the other two should be typical Indian pitches with reverse swing on offer.

Pretty useless test lol...practically a replay of the first one, ending via a match saving innings. Enjoyed Sehwag helping himself to a few runs at the end though.

What crappy pitches <_<

Ahemdabad should be banned. Can't believe that place is still given test matches. Hydrabad didn't deteriorate at all. No reverse swing on offer. Nagpur has produced results so hopefully India bat first and win this next one.

It's been useful for New Zealand. Finally a century opening stand...

I am pretty sure we are going to win the toss in Nagpur, so I figure we are more or less assured a series win against the worlds number 1 team. I'd be pretty happy with that.

Have a nice day.
