where is Gerudo Valley theme from Ocarina of Time...best music ever.

paper mario had some great stuff too...the song in the forest and also crystal palace was spooky !!

pretty much any ocarina of time song though

or maybe im just a fanboy

twilight princess has good music too. especially kakariko the hidden village and gerudo desert. but yeah anything in paper mario or oot is awesome.

Definitely worth a listen imo. Takada is also responsible for the SSBB soundtrack iirc.

He's responsible for some of the SSBB soundtrack you mean. The SSBB soundtrack is like some sort of once-in-a-lifetime collaboration among the greatest Japanese game composers. Which is one of the reasons I'm so annoyed there's no OST!

Indeed. One of the few OSTs I would spend money on.

Also, I don't see the Touhou series being mentioned at all. Its music started a fucking cult! ZUN is one of my biggest heroes ever.

Motoi Sakuraba is one of my favorite composers - his work on Valkyrie Profile 2 really blew me away, and I was already a fan of his work on the Tales games and VP:Lenneth. I also really enjoy Shoji Meguro's stuff. His tracks from Persona 3 and 4 have been entirely awesome, especially since I thought he was kind of in a rut after Devil Summoner.

More recently, I really enjoyed Takeharu Ishimoto's work on the Crisis Core: FFVII soundtrack. Tracks like Combat and Wandering on a Sunny Afternoon really work very well in the FFVII universe, a lot more than I thought they would.

Also, seconding (thirding? Thirty-thirding?) Smash Brothers Brawl soundtrack. I'm not a fan of the SSB games at all, but I love this OST. So many great names, so many great tracks.
