As Mikhail lands on the battlefield, sharp blades of rock wrench themselves out of the dirt from the four corners of the battlefield and fling themselves at him, causing damage before he could do a thing.

Immediately after, Metagross preemptively puts up a blue protective barrier to block Mikhail's fiery attacks but none come. Instead, he stomps, causing his tail flame to brighten, and a large glowing orb of light flares to life above the battlefield, simulating the effects of a miniature sun.

As Metagross prepares to summon rocks to attack, Mikhail's scales glow intensely orange, and scorching hot flames billow out from his wide-open maw, licking at Metagross's shiny steel armor. This seems to not only hurt Metagross but also Mikhail who winces, his Solar Power ability kicking in; Metagross takes this opportunity to fling large boulders at Mikhail to capitalize on his crippling weakness to Rock-type attacks.

Without missing a beat, Metagross spins in a wide circle, hurling rock after rock at the trapped Mikhail, trying to deal as much damage as possible, but... It's not enough. The heap of rocks begins to glow cherry red and the temperature of the arena skyrockets. In a fiery display of power, Mikhail bursts from the rocks and whips his wings up and down several times, sending an enormous wave of hot air at Metagross. Nobunaga has to shield his eyes at this, and you think you can see a few beads of what seems to be molten metal trickling down Metagross's side.

Everywhere, things have started to light on fire. The limp flags, their threads blackening and curling. The patches of brown grass everywhere, crackling and shriveling up into small piles of ash. The power of Mikhail truly is great.

The wind dies down, and Mikhail lands back down on his feet, breathing heavily. Even after all of the damage he's taken, he still has a bright grin on his face. The entire battlefield appears to be shimmering with heat and you can't help but glow with pride to see how far Mikhail has come. But there's still a battle to win. You can't get complacent at the most crucial moment!

Nobunaga screams into the sky. He doesn't seem happy.

As the battle reaches its climax, Mikhail swiftly flies around Metagross, breathing out a large tongue of flame that encircles it, dealing heavy damage. Its half-melted body flickers blue in an attempt to endure the attack but ultimately fails. Metagross's legs give out, and it is finally defeated.

The artificial sun winks out of sight and all of the miniature fires begin to die down and disappear into small hissing streams of smoke. Then, the large gray clouds begin to clear and the real sun peeks through, just a little.

You look around, searching for any sign of his Zekrom or Hydreigon, but it looks like they fled at Nobunaga's defeat. Cowards.

Finally, your gaze lands back at Nobunaga and his defeated Eelektross and Metagross. Oh, no! There's no trace of the defeated warlord anywhere! You then begin to notice a bunch of Sawk and Gurdurr making their way into the fortress from all four sides of the square battlefield. Two Gurdurr tromp into the arena from the room right behind where Nobunaga was standing during the battle, dragging Nobunaga in by the arms before dropping him onto the dusty ground. You run closer to get a better look, and Pixel and Mikhail follow you.

From under Nobunaga's disheveled hair, his eyes glare murderous hate up at you. "You... you don't even know what I had hoped to accomplish. It was the unity of Ransei! The unity-" he spits before being harshly silenced with a big meaty Gurdurr palm covering his mouth. A Sawk and a couple of other Gurdurr approach you and, oh! One of them is holding Pixel's sword!


"We were watching the battle from afar and wanted to let you know that the Pokémon of the forest are truly grateful to you and your Pokémon for your help in vanquishing this filthy villain. Mikhail, although you may be young, it seems like your power more than makes up for your lack of experience. And Pixel, it appears our judgment of you and your teammates was wrong and rash. Here, take your sword back."

The Sawk presents Pixel's sword with both hands and bows.

"I'm glad you stayed true to your word."
"Of course! Even if I did attack you, we all know that it was just a misunderstanding."

A peppy voice chimes in: "Yeah, thanks to you, my family is safe from the evil samurai army!"

Finally, you hear a gruff cough behind you. Turning around, you realize that it's Yoshihiro and his Gurdurr. "I never got to say thank you," he says. "The people of Pugilis will forever be in your debt for helping us in our hour of need." He nods to you and your Pokémon before walking away.

Looking up at the sun, you realize how lucky you are to be able to have such great friends- no, not friends, partners- as Pixel and Mikhail. Pixel, who always looks out for everyone even at his own expense, and Mikhail, who always has a happy grin on his face and looks at things optimistically. Oh, it looks like he's even grinning right now!
