CAP 2 Smogon "Create a Pokemon" Part Deux: Poll 5

i would say pure fighting is a good type, maye not as good as fight/ghost but still good, it resists tyranitars STABS and hits it with 4x efective attacks, it switches into blissey, snorlax, regice and many steel walls it has only 2 weaknasses flying (not common, used mostly as STAB) and psychic (slightly more common, used only as STAB) figting types have been known to have good HP and some ghosts do two, like driftblim.
what will make or break this pokemon is not so much its defencive power, but ether its ability to bulk up, or its raw power with unresisted STABs.

Basically: Things I don't like, and are placed lower: HP too high, speed too high, attack too high or too low, imbalance in defenses. A combination of those will determine how low or high a spread gets in my opinion.

Edit: By the way, this is the spread obtained through making the mean of each one's stats (I'm truncating the decimals, so the BST is lower than 525):

Mean spread: 96/105/90/70/88/70, BST = 519

I find that a spot in number 4 is perfectly warm for me. :)

Waits for some math genius to say the mean isn't the proper way to do it and that some long and complicated statistical analysis that will give you marginally more accurate results is the better way.

But yah, wierd that the spreads that are winning are closer to that mean than the spreads that are losing.

Well, I just did it for fun. It really doesn't represent anything, and I doubt any other method would be really more accurate. Well, I guess I could also calculate the standard deviation for each parameter, but the truth is that with a sample of 9 you can't really do a good statistical analysis anyway. I'm not exactly math illiterate, mind you ;)

Also: Gothic Togekiss, don't be so bitter. You spread is the best, I know it, you know it. But truth is, most if not all the other spreads have their merits, and some of them are really close to yours in greatness.

IMO it was between gothic togekiss and FSS, since the spreads are so much alike but because of the huge deference in the amout of effort put in it i choose FSS.As wells as the fact that it's only supereffective hits this thing should see often would be Special thus needing a high special defense

Gothic Togekiss, don't be so bitter. You spread is the best, I know it, you know it. But truth is, most if not all the other spreads have their merits, and some of them are really close to yours in greatness.

I'm not all that bitter, just a bit hurted. Honestly...I know there this has to be done and all, but I still feel attached to my stat spread like my own son and seeing my spread being erratically placed on people's list with reason like "Didn't care for the other 8 so I randomly placed them in any order without cause" make me feel hurted. I can understand if you actually thought it through and chose your choices out with care and give a little explaintion onto your reasoning but saying that something simliar to my little phrase...well I take that as an personal attack.

I fully aware that everyone else spread have their good points and bad points and that all deserve it but, damn randomly placing someone spread/idea/whatever last for no damn reason tick me off.


Yes...ignore the weird coloring above as I don't know how to do spolier tagging. Anyway....this is a heated battle and I still have faith in my spread.

To be honest, I think the majority of these votes are not random. As I tallied everything up, I saw huge correlations in votes. Obviously, there are a few exceptions, but in most cases, they were very much alike. For instance, Gothic Togekiss, we were voted all over the map. However, a *huge* amount of people voted for us back-to-back. When you were first, I was second. When I was sixth, you were seventh. When you were fourth, I was fifth.

I noticed that on page 2 and 3, specifically, we were almost always right next to each other.

And the recent votes are also not random. They are the exact vote totals backwards. In other words, they voted for their favorite, and then anti-voted the rest. It is cheap, I agree -- and, again, I think a regular poll (with two to three options) would have been better to avoid this. But, it still isn't random.

In fact, with the exception of the recent two votes of "anti-voting," your vote actually has our two spreads the farthest apart of any vote, =p.
